Oakland Catholic Grad Earns Gold in Rio
Swimmer Leah Smith won her second medal at the summer games Wednesday night.

Oakland Catholic graduate and Mt. Lebanon native Leah Smith earned her first Olympic gold medal in swimming by helping the United States win the 4×200 freestyle relay Wednesday night.
The relay team was anchored by Katie Ledecky who won her third gold medal of these Olympics. Also on the team was Ross native Allison Schmitt, an eight-time Olympic medalist who swam for the University of Georgia.
It was Smith's second trip to the medals podium this week. Sunday, she took bronze in the 400 freestyle.
