CEREMONY
Nicole and Joel were married by Dr. Mitch Nickols, Nicole’s childhood pastor, at the Pentecostal Temple (412/361-7000) in East Liberty in a Christian ceremony.
FLOWERS
Nicole’s grandmother Edith McCallum (412/241-3084) used all silk flowers in the wedding party’s bouquets as well as in centerpieces for the reception. The arrangements are still enjoyed today by the newlyweds and their families.

ON THE BRIDE
Nicole looked stunning in a lace gown with a beaded bodice, cinched taffeta skirt and a chapel-length train purchased from David’s Bridal (multiple locations; 877/923-2743, davidsbridal.com). Make-up artist Lu’Chriesia Hammie (412/241-1984) made sure Nicole’s makeup was perfect.
ON THE GROOM
Joel was also attired in all white, except for an apple-red vest and tie, sporting a Pronto Uomo white Nehru-collar tuxedo from Men’s Wearhouse (multiple locations; 800/776-7848, menswearhouse.com).
RECEPTION
So many of this wedding’s details were perfected by the couple’s wedding planner, Cheryl Spencer (412/980-3790), who also happens to be Nicole’s mom. Around 175 guests dined on filet mignon and shrimp stuffed with crab meat, while celebrating the new union at the Marriott Pittsburgh City Center (112 Washington Place, downtown; 412/471-4000, marriott.com). The hotel’s grand ballroom was decked out in the official wedding colors, apple red and white.
CAKE
The couple’s "Truly Magnificent" cake—as it’s known at Oakmont Bakery (531 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont; 412/826-1606, oakmontbakery.com)—was a seven-tier, almond-flavored cake filled with Bavarian cream, lemon, strawberries, chocolate cream and fresh raspberries.
MUSIC
DJ Coop from Nick Nice Productions (412/628-0945) played R&B, jazz, blues and Christian music to keep the reception swinging.
