An intimate outdoor ceremony that focused on the couple’s family and friends took place at the Maple Springs Pond Gazebo in South Park (Buffalo Drive, South Park; 412/835-4810; The service was officiated by Reverend Larry D. Goyda and incorporated a special sand-pouring ceremony including the bride’s daughter Emma to symbolize two families becoming one. Brianna Hancovsky, a friend of the bride, accompanied the service on violin, and both Nickcole's father and stepfather escorted her down the aisle.

Wedding Coordinator:
The bride’s sister-in-law, Amanda Filsinger (, works as a DIY planner. Amanda helped Nickcole to design a unique ceremony and reception that was within her budget.

Instead of using traditional flowers, Amanda created Nickcole’s bridal bouquet by arranging an assortment of floral Monet pins purchased from various department stores, websites and thrift shops. Bridesmaids carried bouquets of beads and pearls wrapped in ribbon, and groomsmen wore Monet pins as boutonnieres. Amanda also used vases of real calla lilies ( immersed in water and surrounded by tea-light candles to decorate the dinner tables for the reception.

On the Bride:
Nickcole sported a form-fitting mermaid-style gown with hand-stitched details from Matthew Christopher’s couture line (Anne Gregory for the Bride, 2975 W. Hair and Makeup:
The bride owns Hair’s Perfection by Nickcole (4028 Saw Mill Run Blvd., South Hills; 412/882-0199), so after she helped style the bridesmaids’ hair, she had her own hair done by her sister Kristal, who also works at the salon and was the maid of honor. Nickole had her makeup done by Danielle at the South Hills Village Mall MAC counter (301 South Hills Village, Bethel Park; 412/831-8652;

On the Groom:
Todd wore a chocolate-brown Calvin Klein suit and a gold vest and tie from Valotta’s Tuxedo (4050 Brownsville Road, South Hills; 412/882-4800,

The fun-filled evening event was held at Salvatore's of Little Giant World of Catering (5001 Curry Road, South Hills; 412/653-1880, Nickcole and Todd decided on the venue’s Crystal Room because of its chandeliers. With help from Amanda and her other bridesmaids, Nickcole created a variety of decorations for the event, including lamps made from Champagne glasses and “I Love You” imprinted paper.

That same paper was also used to design personalized invitations and specially wrapped miniature Reese’s cups that were handed out to guests as favors. The buffet-style menu featured stuffed chicken breast, herb-roasted potatoes and crabmeat-stuffed flounder in a lemon cream sauce.

Laura Reidy, a friend of the bride, supplied a four-tier vanilla cake with pearl and gold accents, and alternating layers of raspberry filling.
