New TV Series Shot in Pittsburgh Area Premiering This Month

Looking for something new to stream? Those with a taste for high-paced drama may be interested the new CBS All Access show “One Dollar,” much of which was shot in the Pittsburgh area.
The part-mystery, part-thriller and part-drama was filmed in western Pennsylvania this spring and recently debuted its first trailer for its Aug. 30 premiere. Episodes will release weekly on Thursdays, available on-demand to CBS All Access subscribers.
The show’s plot centers around a one-dollar bill changing hands among a group of characters involved in a chilling multiple murder. The thriller is set in a small town in the rust belt during post-recession America. The path of the dollar bill and the point of view in each episode examines the deep class and cultural divides present in the town, which sharpen in focus as the town’s secrets come to light.
The cast includes John Carroll Lynch from “American Horror Story” and Disney Channel actress Kirrilee Berger. Leslie Odom Jr., star from the original cast of hit Broadway musical “Hamilton,” will have a recurring role.
