National Aviary's Baby Sloth & 5-Year-Old Girl Make for Cute TV

The young cancer survivor's visit with Valentino, the National Aviary's two-toed baby sloth, is so much fun to watch.

Some children love their dogs, others fawn over their cats. But Violet Brielle Spataro's most beloved animal is a sloth.

Violet, 5, is a cancer survivor living in Gig Harbor, Wash. She was a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” earlier this year when she revealed her passion for sloths. National Aviary board member Jane Dixon saw the episode and suggested the Aviary invite Violet to Pittsburgh for a visit.

Violet arrived in June when she got to hang out with Valentino, the Aviary's two-toed baby sloth, for more than an hour. The priceless video of the visit aired Wednesday on “Ellen.”

Considering the popularity of Ellen DeGeneres and her large following on social media, it's a safe bet that Valentino's 15 minutes of fame are far from over.
