My Killer Wedding: The Countdown Begins
Just four short months from now I’ll be a married woman. The Question: Will my wedding be killer...or will it kill me in the process?
My name is Lisa Kellar–or Killer, as some of my high school friends and teachers once called me. Like many girls, I’ve been dreaming of my wedding day for as long as I can remember. Over the years, some of the details have changed—in particular, the groom. In the mid-’80s, it was Corey Haim, then came Jordan Knight, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and numerous others. As I matured, my crushes became slightly more realistic—as in, guys who actually knew I existed.
Then, one fateful October evening in 2007, there he was across the beer pong table—Mr. Right (although, the attraction was a bit obscured by his trucker hat and cheesy mustache). Since it was Halloween, and I had confirmed that the ‘stache was indeed part of his costume, I took a chance and gave him my number. We went on our first date a few nights later, and, as they say, the rest is history.
Two years to the day after our first (and, coincidentally, last) beer pong match, in the kitchen of our perfect little home, Mr. Right dropped to one knee and tearfully asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. The very next day, I purchased the first of MANY bridal magazines, and the plans that had been dormant in the back of my mind for so many years finally began to take shape.
So, here we are a mere 122 days from the big day (September 25). Over the next four months, I’ll let you in on my killer wedding plans and ask for ideas and advice from my fellow ‘Burgh brides as we share our journeys down the aisle!
