Grove City College education students will teach and learn at Math Blast 2017, set for March 25 in the Hall of Arts and Letters.

Hosted by math majors taking a required mathematics for secondary education class, Math Blast aims to provide enjoyable and original math lessons to children.

All of the classes will be taught by Grove City College elementary, middle level and secondary education students.

Offered every year since 2002, Math Blast began as a service project for secondary education math majors. The program aims to show kids a fun and interesting side of math and to get them excited through hands-on activities.

More than 20 classes will be offered to children in kindergarten through eighth grade, with each participant registered in two different classes. Some of the classes offered are Fractions with Olaf, Egyptian Math, Secret Codes and Fantastic Fractals.

Math Blast 2017 is free and open to the public, and no pre-registration is required. More information can be found here.
