Ceremony
This couple tied the knot in Oakland (a place that’s special to the pair, as they bumped into each other several times there before becoming friends), exchanging Catholic vows at Heinz Memorial Chapel (1212 Cathedral of Learning, Oakland; 412/624-4157, heinzchapel.pitt.edu).
Flowers
Denise Kinnaman, of Dee’s Florals (412/821-4027, deesflorals.com), was the florist of choice for the DiRenzo family. Charging reasonable prices and working out of her home, she made bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnières, corsages and church flowers while using such flowers as lilies, roses, tulips, hydrangea, stephanotis, daffodils and orchid varieties—all of which were of subtle blue, pink and green hues.

On the Bride
Maria wore a strapless gown with beaded details on the top and back, which was purchased from The Exquisite Bride (4353 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville; 724/327-4337, theexquisitebride.com).
On the Groom
The men in this wedding party were decked out, being that the bride’s family owns Top Hat Tuxedo (Pittsburgh Mills Mall; 724/274-2727, tophattuxedopgh.com). Jeremiah looked smashing in a classic white vest and tie combination and black Calvin Klein tuxedo.
Reception
The reception was held at the LeMont (1114 Grandview Ave., Mt. Washington; 412/431-3100, lemontpittsburgh.com), chosen for its ability to wow guests with a menu that included surf n’ turf and a pasta course. The newlyweds briefly left their reception to capture some fantastic photographs with the skyline and fireworks in the background. To honor the bride’s fully Italian heritage, guests danced the Tarentella and ate a mountain of Italian cookies baked with love by friends and family.
Cake
LeMont’s catering staff provided a pretty, polished almond cake with strawberry filling and white-chocolate icing.
Music
As a longtime friend of the groom, DJ Sam Crawford (412/606-6685) could’ve been in the wedding party, but instead, he made the wedding a party with music that kept going until midnight.
