Mad Libs Adds Laughs and Advice to Pittsburgh Wedding
Wedding guests were asked to bring their creativity to the couple’s big day.
All that Julie Mosesso and Jeffrey Horn asked of their guests was for them to bring their best nouns, adjectives and verbs to their wedding.
At the couple’s reception on June 16, their guests arrived to find a Mad Libs game at their place setting asking them a range of questions from why they were really at the wedding to what advice they’d give the happy couple.
“I love Mad Libs,” Julie says. “I’m 31 years old and I still think they’re funny.”

The bride says that she found several options on Etsy, but the one that she and Jeffrey decided on was the one that the couple agreed would elicit the funniest responses.
When asked to describe the wedding day with three adjectives, guests said Julie and Jeff’s wedding was as the sparkliest day ever, as well as a spectacular, yet sweaty, day.
A multiple choice section requested that guests say how they got to the wedding, be it a plane, a car or a boat. Some people, though, went beyond the options and said that they had traveled through a monsoon or via Uber.
When the card asked guests to say why they were really at the wedding, the guests’ creativity really began to shine. Answers ranged from “alcohol and cookies” to “intellectual conversation.”
One of the greatest opportunities for unique answers came when guests were asked to give some advice and well wishes to the couple.
Some guests were very insightful: "When you don't feel love, choose love," one wrote.
“Have fun, but be wise,” said Ella, a 10-year-old guest.
The card ended with a “cheers to the next ____ years.” Guests filled in that blank with numbers ranging from 70 to a “kazillion” years.
While the Mad Libs were something fun for Julie and Jeff to have at their wedding, they are also an opportunity for the couple to look back on their wedding day and remember how their guests were involved.
“They’re something good for memories,” Julie says. “I can go through them whenever I want.”
