Kristin and Jason married at St. Mary Church (201 9th St., Sharpsburg; 412/784-8700, saintjuandiegopgh.org) in a setting the reminded the bride of a Vatican building and wowed her guests.
Judy Harvilla (100 Village Place, Wexford; 412/915-3348) created centerpieces made with bells of Ireland, lemon leaves, large palm leaves, moss, dried green hydrangeas, and lighted tree branches.
Photos were taken by a friend of the bride.
On the Bride:
Kristin wore a gown made of sequin and lace with full flared skirt and a vintage feel from Anne Gregory for the Bride (2975 W. Liberty Ave., Dormont; 412/531-3160, annegregorybrides.com).
On the Groom:
The groom looked smashing in a tux from Men’s Wearhouse (Multiple locations; 800/776-7848, menswearhouse.com).
The reception location, the Alyson Anne Barn at Armstrong Farms (1020 Ekastown Road, Saxonburg; armstrongfarms.com, 724/321-3428) hosted guests in repurposed barn was set with soft lights, linens and floral centerpieces. Highlights of the cocktail hour included a full Italian antipasta bar and a strolling accordion player. John Marshall Catering (4149 Glasgow Road, Valencia; 724/444-1384, johnmarshallcatering.com) continued the Italian inspiration with dinner, which included caprese salads and a pasta bar.
In step with the Italian theme for dinner, Potomac Bakery (1419 Potomac Ave., Dormont; 412/531-5066) created a white cake with fruit filling decorated with grapes and vines, inspired by a cake design from Dean & Deluca.
The couple hired an accordion player for the cocktail hour (Rich Pastre, 740/733-7600) and rocked the barn to the music of No Bad Juju (412/913-8078, nobadjuju.com).
