Kesha to Headline Pittsburgh Pride in the Street Celebration

The multi-platinum selling artist has been a long-time advocate of LGBT rights.

Kesha, the multi-platinum selling artist behind singles like “Your Love Is My Drug” and “TiK ToK,” will be headlining this year’s Pride in the Street celebration, hosted by the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh. The performance is part of Pittsburgh Pride, an annual celebration of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community.

Kesha has been a long-time advocate of LGBT rights — last year she was chosen to receive the Human Rights Campaign’s Visibility Award, which recognizes a celebrity who uses his or her high-profile status to advocate for LGBT rights.

“Kesha has used her influence and international platform to bring attention to the challenges faced by women and the LGBT community,” said Gary Van Horn, president of the Delta Foundation, in a statement. “We are thrilled to bring her to Pride in the Street this year, and we know that Pittsburgh’s LGBT community and allies will be excited to welcome her.”

Appearing with Kesha will be rapper Angel Haze, who identifies as pansexual and agender and was recently nominated for an MTV Video Music Award and a GLAAD Media Award.

Kesha will perform Saturday, June 11, on Liberty Avenue Downtown. Tickets start at $33, and can be purchased online at pittsburghpride.org/tickets or over the phone by calling 888-71-TICKETS.
