Ceremony and Reception

Kate and Patrick were married by Father Carmen D’Amico in a beautiful and traditional church, with a ceremony to match (184 Washington Place, uptown; 412/471-0654, epiphanychurch.net). The ambiance was similarly spectacular at their reception, held in the Omni William Penn’s art deco Urban Room (530 William Penn Place, Downtown Pittsburgh; 412/281-7100, omnihotels.com/FindAHotel/PittsburghWilliamPenn.aspx). There, guests chowed down on a high-brow menu of prime rib, salmon, and chicken. Lendable Linens (3253 Old Frankstown Road #G, Monroeville; 724/325-5555, lendablelinens.com) lent the perfect linens to complete the room’s look. At the end of the evening, everyone took home favors from the Pittsburgh Popcorn Company (209 21st St., Strip District; 412/281-5200, store.pghpopcorn.com).

Flowers

Pete Donati & Sons Florist (35 Donati Road, Bethel Park; 412/835-4420, petedonatiflorist.com) stuck to the event’s elegant black and ivory color scheme, creating bouquets of calla lilies for Kate and her bridesmaids.

Photographer

Cyndi and Tony Araujo (Araujo Photography; 412/787-2711, araujophoto.com).

On the Bride

Kate wore a mermaid-style ivory dress in silk taffeta, purchased from One Enchanted Evening (11269 Perry Hwy., Pine Township; 724/934-4330, onenechantedeveningonline.com). Her birdcage veil and feather clip were purchased on etsy.com.

On the Groom

The groom wore a black tux with an ivory dinner jacket and bow tie designed by After Six from First Class Tuxedo (2549 Penn Ave., Strip District; 412/566-2889, firstclasstuxedo.com).

Cake

Fenoglietto’s Wedding Cakes made a square, four-tiered cake of raspberry champagne batter and raspberry filling, decorated with black ribbon and calla lilies (2955 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell; 724/335-5359, ultimateweddingcakes.com). The groom's cake was in the shape of a "soft crab" sandwich and a mug of beer (but thankfully made of chocolate cake), a signature dish from his Baltimore roots, made at Bethel Bakery (5200 Brightwood Road, Bethel Park; 412/835-6658, bethelbakery.com).

Music

DJ Dan Koch (Fifth Ace Entertainment, 412/881-2881, 5thace.com) provided all the music this reception needed to be a fun time for all.
