How to Navigate The Reopening of Rivers Casino
The North Shore venue will limit game floor and restaurant capacity to 50%, and guests and staff are required to wear masks.
Rivers Casino Pittsburgh will reopen Tuesday with new sanitation guidelines in place, which are mandated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The North Shore casino will be open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 a.m., with around-the-clock weekend hours starting Friday at 9 a.m. through Monday at 4 a.m.
Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines on entertainment venues, Rivers will limit gaming floor occupancy to 50%, which staff will maintain with customer counters at both entrances. Social distancing markers have been placed throughout the facility, in addition to more than 100 stations for hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes.
“The safety and well-being of our team members, our guests and the community are our top priority,” Bill Keena, the casino’s general manager, says in a statement.
Guests and staff are required to wear masks, but guests can lower them while eating, drinking and smoking. The Grand View Buffet will stay closed, but available dining options include Wheelhouse, FLIPT and Ciao, with limited hours. Guests can drink at the Drum Bar, Spiral Bar and Sportsbook Bar. Restaurant capacity will be limited to 50%.
The staff has altered table seating for games, including roulette, blackjack and craps. Poker will remain unavailable, but there will be 12 new blackjack tables in the Poker Room.
The Rivers online sportsbook and casino ran during the shutdown and will continue to do so.
