Dress for Success Pittsburgh, a 15-year program that provides proper attire to women seeking employment, is expanding its services by opening a warehouse in Sharpsburg and adding a third van to its mobile fleet. The warehouse will accept, organize and prep donations ahead of mobile services events.

The two current vans deliver to college campuses, community centers, faith-based institutions and residences across five counties — Allegheny, Butler, Fayette, Greene and Washington. With the addition of the third vehicle, services in Butler, Greene and Fayette counties are set to increase by more than 40%. The vans are helpful in outreach for those with transportation issues by bringing business clothing to or near their own neighborhoods.

Dress for Success Pittsburgh is a nonprofit that provides appropriate clothing and shoes for interviews or work in traditional office settings, as well as uniform items for jobs in medical, construction, hospitality and essential services.

“Appropriate clothing and shoes build the necessary foundation every woman needs to showcase her skills and abilities in an interview, new job or training program,” according to a press release.

Women can receive services for job search, interviewing, employment readiness, job training, rebuilding (major life changes) or court appearance attire. Women also receive personal care items and accessories.

An open house and networking event will be held on June 29 from 5-7 p.m. for those who are interested in learning more about the program and connecting with local professionals. For information regarding location and registration, visit this link.
