HOME Summer 2019
HOME editor Jessica Sinichak details a makeover we gave ourselves.
In this magazine, you see a lot of before-and-after photos. That’s not too surprising, given we’re a home magazine — stunning room makeovers are our thing!
This time, though, we’re giving ourselves the makeover.
In the pages of the Summer HOME issue, you will notice a fresher, more modern aesthetic. We’ve added home-related happenings and tidbits to this page, and a more streamlined Table of Contents that includes a big, beautiful photo from one of our features.
Another newbie is P.S. Located on the back page of the magazine, P.S gives you one last look at something you should not miss before we sign off.
Summer HOME traditionally is our outdoor issue. And in this edition you’ll see some truly amazing exteriors. There’s the urban, which includes a rooftop tiki bar and putting green; the suburban, which has an enviable patio overlooking a pond; and the rural, which features an “entertainment barn” that you have to see to believe.
We’ve also got a few reality television veterans in this issue. Architect Greg Dutton is a mainstay on HGTV’s “Restored By the Fords,” and his own off-grid retreat is as stunning as anything seen on the show. Attorney Matt Monsour was on “My First Place” when it filmed years ago in Pittsburgh. If you’ve seen the episode, then you know his place has come a long way from when he purchased it in 2011.
We hope you enjoy our new look — and our same commitment to bringing you the best of Pittsburgh’s home industry.
