All the trends you loved from yesteryear — think flowing bell sleeves, flared jeans and even choker necklaces — are invading the fall fashion scene.
“The ‘70s and ‘90s are definitely coming back this year,” says Micah Fowler, the owner of Bronze Coconut, a women’s fashion boutique and tanning salon in Cranberry Township.
Also cool for fall are off-the-shoulder tops, which are replacing last season’s “cold-shoulder” shirts, and textured materials such as lace and fringe.
When it comes to color, Fowler recommends going bold with a gem tone in power red, deep amethyst or glowing emerald.
“Even mustard is sticking around this year,” she says. “If it’s a really nice, deep, gold mustard, it can look nice on everyone.”
Here, Fowler, 29, models an olive off-the-shoulder top ($28) by Honey Punch and a Free People faux leather miniskirt ($78). Hugo, her blue Great Dane, wears his own bow tie.
