Hot Gift Idea
If you’re interested in creating something for your home or office space, the Pittsburgh Glass Center is again hosting a Valentine’s Flowers glass-making workshop.
The 15-minute workshops start at 4 p.m. Friday and go until 8:45 p.m., but you might want to pre-register for the popular event, which is held in the center’s hot shop — several of the classes already are sold out. The cost for the workshop is $35 per flower.
PGC also will host Fused Valentine workshops from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in the kiln shop. Participants will be able to craft their own personalized love letter in glass. The cost is $25 per valentine.
There also will be an opportunity to make heart-shaped pendants in the center’s flame shop from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday. The cost per pendant is $25.
Oh, and you don’t have to be an expert to make your own Valentine’s Day glass objects. The classes are all beginner level, and an instructor will be on hand to help you through the process.
