Fore! Life’s a Breeze Living on the Greens in Cecil
The well-appointed, three-bedroom townhouse overlooks the 8th hole on Southpointe’s golf course.
There are lots of reasons to love living on a golf course besides golfing — just ask Patricia DelGadillo and her husband, Alejandro Barretto.
After selling their Downtown condo in 2021, the couple moved to 130 Fairway Landings Drive, a three-bedroom, 2½ bathroom townhouse overlooking the 8th hole on Southpointe’s golf course.
“The view is gorgeous, we can see the pond, the trees,” DelGadillo says. “We don’t play golf; we just loved the green area. The landscape is so beautiful.”
Remote work enabled them to make that first lifestyle change; two years later, it’s allowing them to make their second. The couple is moving out of state to be closer to their children.
They have listed the home for $469,500 (MLS#1605352, Racheallee Lacek, Sotheby’s International Realty, sothebysrealty.com). The home went under agreement as this story was posted.
Built in 1993, the end-unit home has a well-appointed driveway with mature landscaping, all kept in perfect condition by the homeowner’s association.
The open-floor plan features floor-to-ceiling windows in several rooms, including a three-window wall in the dining room.
Accessed through the dining area, the double-rear deck that wraps around the corner of the house is outfitted with a custom awning.
“I like the upper deck,” DeGadillo says. “We really wanted the in-and-out integration of the spaces; you are in a great position to see it all.”
Steps lead to a second deck, which is also accessible from the finished basement. On the first floor are walls topped with crown molding, tile floors, a powder room and a fireplace.
Adding to the home’s airy feel are simply decorated rooms paired with warm, inviting colors, especially in the kitchen, which features ivory-hued cabinets alongside granite countertops in earthy tones. There’s also a double-range oven and a french-door-style refrigerator.
“We have a very minimalist style,” DelGadillo says. “We are more into the organic lifestyle; it’s not about having stuff, it’s about enjoying the indoor and outdoor space together. This property has that quality.”
Upstairs are three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. DelGadillo’s favorite views of the area’s rolling hills are from the primary bedroom, which features a window wall topped with a palladian window.
“The view is beautiful in all seasons,” she says.
The attached primary bathroom has a double vanity, a double shower and access to the walk-in closet, which is outfitted with drawers, custom hangers and slide outs.
This level also features a long, sleek laundry room with cabinets, a vanity sink with a porcelain top and storage. Adding an elegant touch is a chandelier.
After living in the Pittsburgh area for more than 30 years, Barretto says he’ll remember the couple’s time here fondly.
“The book of life is composed of multiple chapters — this was a long chapter in our life,” Barretto. “We will always consider Pittsburgh home because of all the time we have spent here. Now it is time to open a new chapter.”
