Flashback

Donning retro styles inspired by Flashdance — shot in Pittsburgh and released 30 years ago — performers with Continuum Dance Theater, the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre step out at the stylish SAVOY Restaurant.

Into the Groove

[left to right] Jessica Marino, a founding company member of Continuum Dance Theater, shows a pop of color in an ’80s-era Donna Richard for Gilligan & O’Malley print jumpsuit ($20), red rhinestone earrings, and red satin pumps ($20). (Unless otherwise noted, all items shown are from the private collection of Eons Fashion Antique owner Richard Parsakian. Prices, if not listed, are available on request.)

Christopher Nolen of the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble is wearing a vintage-inspired outfit from his personal wardrobe.

Julia Erickson became a principal dancer at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in 2009. She’s rocking a leopard-print Diane von Furstenberg dress ($150), black lace gloves ($10), black dangle earrings and black studded booties.

PBT corps de ballet dancer Cooper Verona joined the company in 2011. He’s sporting a very ’80s look, with gray pleated pants ($15), blue Miami Vice jacket and black Chuck Taylor high-tops ($30).

Rebekah Kuczma, a founding member of the August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble, shines in an ’80s-era glitter dress ($28), Lucite mirrored earrings, black and silver stretch belt and Lucite wedge heels.

Sitting Pretty

Jessica’s vintage-inspired Worth dress ($49.99) features diagonal swaths of poppy red, royal blue and silver. Silver Everything’s Aglow heels ($49.99) provide flash. Available at ModCloth.
