Festival of Lights Illuminates Holiday Cheer

La Roche hosts a night of drinking cocoa, taking carriage rides and getting into the holiday spirit.

If you’re due for a break from the shopping, wrapping and baking craziness, round up the family for a night of entertainment and arts at La Roche College’s Festival of Lights.

Browse items from Pittsburgh vendors at a craft show when the festival kicks off at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7. Grab dinner afterwards at one of the food trucks — or if cocoa is more your thing, make sure to bring a canned good or two to the Cans for Cocoa food drive from 6 to 8:15 p.m. to receive a free 12-ounce cup.

There’s plenty to entertain the kids, too, including activities, crafts, and an appearance from Santa (a great opportunity for the ones who forgot to get their Christmas lists in the mail).

Later in the evening, take in a performance by the La Roche College Dance Team, or one of several music performances happening throughout the evening.

If you prefer celebrating the season more…chilled…you can also catch a carriage ride or watch a live ice-sculpting session before a fireworks show puts the light out on the festival at 8:30 p.m.

Admission is free. Check out a full listing of events here.
