Ceremony and Reception

After a short, traditional ceremony at Heinz Memorial Chapel (1212 Cathedral of Learning, Oakland; 412/624-4157, heinzchapel.pitt.edu), the new Mr. and Mrs. Richman headed to J. Verno Studios (3030 Jane St., South Side; 412/381-5350, jvsevents.com) a photography studio that made an excellent venue for a party. The artistic space was the staging ground for an incredible meal served up in stations that included lobster ravioli at a sauté station, and stuffed steak and chicken at carving stations (provided by Yes, We Cater: 412/373-9322, yeswecater.net). The bride’s mother produced an elaborate spread of desserts that included a candy bar and 200 pounds of chocolates. J. Verno also supplied a photo booth, custom pink uplighting and projection of the couple’s monogram.

Flowers

Florist Ken Milko of Flowers in the Attic (7505 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills; 412/798-2200, flowersintheattic.com) came through with a gorgeous hand tied bouquet in mixed shades of pinks using orchids from Thailand and dark pink peonies from his own garden.

On the Bride

Erika’s silk taffeta gown sparkled with appliqués and beading. (From The Exquisite Bride, 5349 William Flynn Hwy., Gibsonia; 724/443-0400, theexquisitebride.com).

On the Groom

Sean tapped a James Bond look in a tux with tones of black and gray from Top Hat Tuxedo (933 Freeport Road, Fox Chapel; 412/782.2450, tophattux.com).

Cake

With over 200 guests, the spectacular four-tiered, butter cream-iced cake from Oakmont Bakery (531 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont; 412/826-1606, oakmontbakery.com) would not feed everyone. Rather than hiding extra sheet cakes in the back, Erika ordered five additional specialty cakes and put them on display with the other lavish desserts.

Music

Dante Mincin (724/433-9352) played some great music, and the couple appreciated his ability to lead the crowd and get them dancing.
