Enter Now: The 2017 Home of the Year Contest

Did you build or remodel your home in 2016? We want to see it. Plus, get all the details on Aspinwall’s first Wine in the Wall.

Calling all home renovators and builders. Pittsburgh Magazine is now accepting submissions for our annual Home of the Year competition.

We're looking for the best example of innovative or creative design and construction work; the best use of green technology and materials; and sensitivity to historical significance, if applicable.

The home must be a single-family dwelling; construction or renovation must have been completed in 2016. We’ll also be taking submissions for Best New Kitchen, Best Renovated Kitchen, Best New Bathroom and Best Renovated Bathroom.

Entries that have been submitted to other competitions are permitted; multiple entries are welcome.

To enter, send submissions to jsinichak@pittsburghmagazine.com or visit here to fill out the application form. Entries are due by Nov. 18.

Something to Wine About

If there’s anything better than shopping the sales racks, it’s shopping for sales while sipping wine. From 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, the Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce will host the borough’s first Aspinwall Wine Walk.

Merchants and restaurants participating in the event will be serving select pours and nibbles. The vendors also will be offering special sales and discounts for that night only.

Businesses taking part in the event include Beautiful Boutique on Brilliant, Kristi Boutique, One Brilliant, Dove Cote, Esspa Kozmetica, Feast on Brilliant and many others.
