EmPOURium: The Candle Lab Hosting Open Air Market in Lawrenceville
The first in a series of monthly events will feature local artisans — plus handmade donuts.
The Candle Lab is branching out in Lawrenceville.
The Columbus, Ohio-based fragrance brand — which in May opened its first location outside of Ohio in Lawrenceville — is hosting its first EmPOURium event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at its store along Butler Street.
The open-air market, scheduled to take place on the first Saturday of each month from here on out, will feature local artisans who create home and lifestyle items.
Appearing at Saturday’s event are Lazypeas, Fahlor Creations, Sarah Ishman and Songbird Artistry, which operates a storefront on Penn Avenue in Central Lawrenceville that sells handmade artwork, jewelry and more. Relish Pittsburgh also will be on hand with its handmade, vegan donuts.
Participants, of course, will be able to take part in one of The Candle Lab’s signature operations — creating their own candles.
The Candle Lab, which specializes in natural gourmet soy candles and custom scents, is noted for its Fragrance Bar, where customers are able to sit down and pour their own candles and to blend together scents to create custom combinations.
Owner Abbey Meyer says it takes about 30 minutes to make the candles, and at least an hour and a half to finish before taking them home.
The company also sells ready-made, hand-poured candles in more than 120 fragrances that range from everything to Brown Sugar to Sweet Grass to Bacon.
