Duquesne University to Host Small Business Networking Event

The event will connect hundreds of small business managers and owners and provide useful information to help them take their enterprises to the next level.

Running or owning a small business can be scary, lonely, challenging, exhilarating, confusing, rewarding and — often times — all of the above. Getting advice from like-minded people can be invaluable, and that's the goal of the 18th annual Entrepreneur’s Growth & Networking Conference, which is set for 9 a.m., June 2 in Duquesne University's Union Ballroom. Hosted by Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center, the event’s theme will be “What’s Your Next Chapter to Success?” and will host more than 400 small business managers and owners for breakout sessions, keynote addresses and a tradeshow.

The daylong event will include a luncheon keynote address by Jeff Broadhurst, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Eat’n Park Hospitality Group. Other local business experts and successful entrepreneurs will cover topics such as becoming a breakout brand, the importance of “greening” a business and marketing on social media.

“This conference is always an exciting event for attendees,” says Dr. Mary McKinney, director of the SBDC. “Not only is it a wonderful networking opportunity but also a dynamic learning experience with first-class keynote speakers, workshops tailored to small business issues and exhibits and prizes.”

Attendees are welcome for a full day, half day or lunch only. Prices vary, and registration information can be found here.
