Contemporary City Living
A modern North Side townhome.
“As you climb up the stairs and look out the windows, the view is spectacular,” says homeowner Rebecca White.
She and her husband bought one of the five newly built townhomes on James Street in central North Side. The units offer more unique features than just the gorgeous sights: Priced under $300,000 (with a 10-year tax abatement), other homes for sale include such amenities as a gourmet kitchen, ceramic-enclosed shower in the master bath and deck with a small yard.
Walk-in closets and a spacious garage are also hard-to-find assets for the area. And it was the neighborhood itself that really appealed to the couple — and, ultimately, sealed the deal.
“I love being close to the city,” says White. “We take advantage of the museums, the trails and the rivers. We never look for parking, and we’re just a short walk [away from] anything we want to do.”
The James Street townhomes offer rare indoor and outdoor features as well as great views and spacious rooms.
Bathroom: A walk-in shower is an unexpected addition on the top floor.
Kitchen: Granite countertops, wood cabinets with soft-closing drawers, stainless-steel appliances and wood floors make this a dream kitchen.
Dining area: The open floor plan allows owners to creatively decorate and utilize the space for everyday use or for holiday gatherings.
