Blogger on Ice: A Fashion Shoot on the Frozen Allegheny

For good reason, few people venture onto the ice when Pittsburgh's three rivers freeze over, and even fewer do it dressed to the nines.

Don't try this at home. 

Pittsburgh fashion blogger Sirin Isik posted these stunning photos of herself standing on the frozen Allegheny River on her blog, Creative Echo, in January. Isik, who is originally from Turkey but has lived in Los Angeles for years, says she is having a tough time adjusting to the colder weather in Pittsburgh. She and and her husband/photographer Philipp Haban recently relocated here for Haban's job. Standing on the frozen river wasn't as scary as you'd think, Isik said, since she only stood there for a few seconds and then jumped back onto solid ground. 

Here's to the fact that it's not quite as cold these days as it was in these photos.
