'Tis the season for cocktail parties, galas and seasonal gatherings–and the August Wilson Center for African American Culture is one of Pittsburgh’s places to be and be seen. A world-class cultural center, the 65,000-square-foot complex is a spectacular event venue engaging regional and national audiences in its mission of preserving and celebrating the art, culture and history of African Americans from western Pennsylvania. Named after Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Hill District native August Wilson, the center presents year-round programming, including music, dance, theater, visual arts and exhibitions.
