Ashley and Michael were wed by Pastor Gary Denning at the First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh (159 N. Bellefield Ave., Oakland; 412/621-0500, first-baptist-pittsburgh.org). Ashley’s 4-year-old daughter, Juliana, joined the couple in lighting the unity candle.
The bride carried a pristine bouquet of garden roses wrapped in white silk, constructed by Ken Milko of Flowers in the Attic (7505 Saltsburg Road, Penn Hills; 412/798-2200, flowersintheattic.com).
John C. Schisler Creative Photographie (412/400-9634, creativephotographie.com) captured the essence of Ashley and Michael's magical day.
On the Bride:
Ashley chose a one-strap Maggie Sotero gown from MB Bride & Special Occasion (123 S. Urania Ave., Greensburg; 724/836-6626, mbbride.com) with a long train and crystal appliqués. She wore remarkable accessories, including her mother’s baptismal cross pin, a Le Vian rose gold ring with a cotton-candy amethyst from her parents and crystal Nadri bangles from Nordstrom, a nod to her Lebanese heritage. She also surprised the groom by wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins garter.
On the Groom:
Michael wore a white jacket, black tuxedo pants and a black vest and bowtie, provided by the Modern Tux Shop (123 S. Urania Ave., Greensburg; 724/836-6626, moderntux.com).
The newlyweds headed over to the Grand Hall at the Priory (614 Pressley St., North Side; 412/323-9394, pittsburghsgrandhall.com) to celebrate with their guests. Tables were decorated with pillared candle arrangements and plum gladiola centerpieces, created by Flowers in the Attic (flowersintheattic.com). Pittsburgh Chair Covers (412/559-1725, pittsburghchaircovers.com) provided ivory tablecloths and chair covers as well as champagne organza bows for each chair. The dinner menu included filet mignon with portabella mushrooms and almond-crusted chicken with goat-cheese filling and apricot glaze. Before departing, each guest received a box of homemade cookies and a thank-you card.
Priory Fine Pastries (525 E. Ohio St., North Side; 412/321-7270, prioryfinepastries.com) provided a five-tier white buttercream cake with caramel filling and gold piping.
DJ Bryan of Big Day Entertainment, Video & Photography (2549 Penn Ave., Strip District; 412/566-2900, bigdayentertainment.com) kept guests dancing.
