After falling in love with its gorgeous architecture and breathtaking stained-glass windows, Alison and A.J. knew that the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (57 21st St., Strip District; 412/471-4767, would be the perfect site for their ceremony. On their wedding day, Father Harry Nichols performed an abbreviated Catholic mass, and organist Zachary Legas provided musical accompaniment.

Kerry Kennedy of KS Kennedy Distinctive Floral (848 Western Ave., North Side; 412/322-7673, created a subtle blend of ivory and yellow roses for Alison’s bridal bouquet. At the bride's request, he also placed peonies and hydrangeas in the reception centerpieces, arranging vases that incorporated both flowers in shades of purple and magenta.

Alison wore a fitted satin gown with a beaded bodice and corseted back from Allure’s Allure Couture line (One Enchanted Evening: 11269 Perry Highway, Wexford; 724/934-4330, She wore her bridesmaid Jamie Shouldis’ purple Christian Louboutin sling-backs as her “something borrowed,” and she wore a veil with a blusher ( so her father could perform the traditional unveiling at the ceremony. As a finishing touch, Alison added a moon-shaped hair comb with pearls from Etsy.

The newlyweds welcomed 200 of their friends and relatives to the Great Hall, a refurbished church in Perrysville (1003 Perry Highway; 412/366-2610, To make sure the event matched her vision of sophisticated glamour, Alison coordinated many of the reception’s decorations, including satin table linens and chair bows from Sister Seats (, scattered tea-light candles, and a beautiful crystal tree created by Shannon Lown, Alison’s best friend and matron of honor.
