Move over Los Angeles, it’s Pittsburgh’s time to shine.

The Steel City is getting its very own Walk of Fame, with the inaugural 10-person class expected to be inducted in fall 2025. Even St. Louis has a Walk of Fame, why not us?

The walk will run along the five-block-long Terminal in the Strip District.

The public can nominate names starting in January — but the criteria is tough. The person must have either…

  • Been born in southwestern Pennsylvania,
  • Spent their formative years here,
  • Or done their creative work here

The individual’s work must have impacted American culture in some way. Diversity will also be considered.

You’ve been casting your votes and telling us who you think deserves a spot on the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame. Here are the top five selections:

  1. Fred Rogers
  2. Gene Kelly
  3. Michael Keaton
  4. August Wilson
  5. Rachel Carson, tied with Andy Warhol
