Where You Can See “The Eras Tour” in Cinemas This Weekend
Taylor Swift’s hotly anticipated concert film is expected to break box-office records.
It’s “Swiftsburgh” again this weekend. And Taylor Swift is taking over the rest of the country, too.
After selling out stadiums from coast to coast with her blockbuster tour, Swift is bringing the experience into movie theaters. “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” a nearly three-hour concert film culled from footage captured over three shows at California’s SoFi Stadium, hits theaters nationwide this weekend. Based on pre-sales alone, “The Eras Tour” is already the most successful concert film in history, and plenty of other box-office records could fall by the time Swift leaves the stage.
While plenty of showings are sold out, “The Eras Tour” is playing just about everywhere with a projector, so you can still catch the movie — which features performances of a staggering 40 songs — this weekend.
At AMC Waterfront 22, “The Eras Tour” is showing in standard definition, IMAX and Dolby Cinema formats; the film is also playing at AMC locations in Mount Lebanon and South Hills Village. Swift will be in both XD and standard definition at Cinemark’s locations in Robinson, the Monroeville Mall and the North Hills.
The film will also be shown at Squirrel Hill’s Manor Theater, Sewickley’s Lindsay Theater, the Waterworks Cinemas, and the Chartiers Valley Luxury 14 in Bridgeville; the latter will screen the film in the high-definition PTX format.
Stretching a bit farther from Downtown, fans can catch “The Eras Tour” at the GQT Pittsburgh Mills Cinemas, Cranberry Cinemas, Cinemark’s Center Township Marketplace in Monaca, AMC Classic locations in Sarver and Greensburg, the Moraine Pointe Cinemas in Butler, the Latrobe 30 Theatre and Cafe, the Indiana Mall Cinemas and the Marquee Cinemas location in Triadelphia, West Virginia.
You can also see “The Eras Tour” under the stars at select local drive-ins. The film will play at Dependable Drive-In, Brownsville Drive-In and Starlight Drive-In; calling ahead is recommended for those screens, as some have sold tickets in advance and the lots may be full.
Wherever you see it, we assume normal protocol will be waived this weekend: feel free to sing along.
