Media Professor; Founder of Duquesne University’s Sports Information and Media Program

The Roberto Clemente quote, “Any time you have an opportunity to make a difference in this world and you don’t, then you are wasting your time on Earth,” serves as Robert Edward Healy III’s mantra in work and life.

As the founder of Duquesne University’s Sports Information and Media program in 2017, Healy ensures his students experience real-world training so they’re well prepared for jobs.

Outside of the classroom, he coaches two Baldwin Whitehall softball teams and serves as president of the South Park Boxing Club. A cancer survivor and a living liver donor, Healy also competes in the Transplant Games of America and advocates for organ donation.

“My heroes are Roberto Clemente, Mario Lemieux and also Fred Rogers,” he says. “So I believe in being a good neighbor and being helpful whenever you can.”
