If you’ve ever shopped at the Downtown farmers market in Market Square or visited Santa at the Holiday Market or tried pickled foods at Picklesburgh, you have Jack Dougherty to thank.

Dougherty has led more than 300 activities with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, all dedicated to encouraging people to explore the Golden Triangle.

“I just get such a fulfillment from seeing people that come down every year, they have their holiday traditions, they have their family traditions, and it’s kind of building the space for that to happen,” he says.

Long dedicated to public service, Dougherty previously worked in the mayor’s office where he launched the Snow Angels program, pairing volunteers to help fellow Pittsburghers with snow removal.
