Take a look at all the accomplishments and interests of F. Connelly Thieman and it’s clear his mind was pumping out ideas from the moment he was born.

The Pittsburgh native wasn’t even out of high school when he formed a digital-video afterschool program for elementary school students. After college, he spent six months in Nairobi developing a microfinance program for Somali refugees.

After a stint at Reed Smith, he founded the law firm growthGC PLLC in May 2021, which represents emerging growth companies in machine learning, waste and recycling, cannabis (including Wiz Khalifa’s Khalifa Kush) and wearable device industries. Also passionate about the arts, he serves on the boards of the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Society of Anglican Missionaries and Senders, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh Advisory Board and other nonprofits.

“Anybody who is passionate about Pittsburgh knows that having the arts flourishing is a critical piece of a thriving city,” he says.
