2021 40 Under 40 Honoree: Kyle Webster
“It really has been this unique moment of organizations and people who care coming together to really try to stabilize our neighbors.”
Founded in 1957 by Richard King Mellon and David L. Lawrence, Action Housing is the largest and oldest affordable housing nonprofit in Pennsylvania. Kyle Webster has been serving as its general counsel for the last four years.
During that time, he has been an advocate for thousands of people experiencing housing insecurity, many of whom were displaced during the COVID-19 pandemic as job losses increased. Webster has also managed the rent relief process for the CARES Act funding allocated to Allegheny County.
“It is very much a dream job,” he says. “It is the work I wanted to be doing.”
He says the success of Action Housing can be attributed to no one person but to the true collaboration of all its people.
“It really has been this unique moment of organizations and people who care coming together to really try to stabilize our neighbors,” he says.
