2020 40 Under 40 Honoree: Sarah Boal
“I get to see them become the people who are going to change the world.”
Like many Pittsburghers, Sarah Boal was hit with a COVID-19-related job loss. Over the summer, the Brother’s Brother Foundation, where she worked on disaster response and strategic initiatives, was forced to part with much of its staff.
In the wake of that upheaval, Boal launched a consulting business that draws on her years of experience in the nonprofit sector. SB Global works with organizations worldwide “who are doing great work, but could be doing more if they had the right resources.”
Boal searches for the small initiatives that can make a big difference, whether that means coaching young leaders, searching for funding or connecting clients to work on joint projects.
“I get to see them become the people who are going to change the world,” she says.
It’s a mission she views as vital in a city where the pandemic is predicted to crush many of the most vulnerable nonprofits in the next 18 months.
“If I can help any organization weather that storm and come out the other side, I will,” Boal says.
