MuseumLab, Creative Producer
Create Art Together, Creative Director
Cat Burton lives a life of innovation.
As the Creative Producer at Museumlab — the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh experience where kids aged 10 and older can participate in cutting-edge art, tech and making — Burton works to build successful opportunities for creatives with a focus on building a professional and artistic network within the local, national and international arts community. “My commitment to the arts extends to contributing my expertise on regional arts committees, including the Pittsburgh International Airport Arts Advisory Committee and the Arts Ed Collaborative,” Burton says. As a recipient of the 2024 Communicating the Arts “30 Under 30” fellowship, Burton recently had the opportunity to present at the global Culture Business Conference in Sydney.
The North Side resident is also the founder and creative director of Create Art Together. “At Create Art Together, we exist to curate, connect and amplify culture — bridging art, fashion, music and performance in ways that leave a lasting impact,” Burton says.
When she started four years ago as Creative Arts Manager at Museumlab, Burton’s role was to enhance the exhibit spaces with community artist programming.
Over the last six years as the director of Create Art Together, she has spearheaded fashion shows, curated compelling art installations and conceptualized innovative experiences that prioritize collaboration with creatives.
In addition, she previously held a board seat at Style 412, where she was actively involved in supporting fashion equity and creative workforce development.
“I am a passionate advocate for creative leadership and equity,” she said. Burton speaks at events, including the ‘Black Women Leading Change’ panel hosted by Google and “Girls Running Shit.” She served as a spokesperson for regional arts survey findings presented to Pittsburgh City Council.
In the last few years, Burton has achieved significant milestones in her career. In 2024 alone, she developed the Experience Art Residency, presented the Cadence Collection at the Pittsburgh International Airport and joined the Communicating the Arts community.
“Looking ahead, in 2025, I am establishing a Creatives Membership at Museumlab and working on the expansion of the Cadence Collection,” she says.
