Which Sheets Are Best For You? We’ve Got It Covered
With so many varieties out there, finding the right bedding can be confusing. From percale to linen, these are some of our favorite sheets.
While our summer travels have come to an end, I’m still thinking about the hotel sheets.
Throughout June and July, we stayed at a historical boutique hotel in a coastal Maryland town for a family member’s wedding (excellent sheets!) as well as an older chain hotel for a lacrosse tournament (not-so-great sheets). Our big trip of the season was to Disney World in Florida, where like everything else about the “Happiest Place on Earth,” the hotel bedding was pretty magical.
Once we got home, I wanted to replicate some of our better experiences by adding crisp, cool sheets to our primary bedroom. After a lot of research, here’s what I found.

Best Percale
Parachute Percale Sheet Set
Crisp, cool and lightweight, percale sheets are similar to what you might find with luxury hotel bedding. One popular pick is Parachute’s premium percale sheet set, which is crafted from long-staple Egyptian cotton, making them ultra durable. Percale sheets, which tend to be more textured than sateen sheets, are also an overall great choice for hot sleepers.
Price: Starting at $259 for a full-sheet set.
Best Sateen
Brooklinen Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set
Available in plenty of colors and prints, Brooklinen’s best-selling sateen sheets (which I’ve bought in the past for my home) are perfect for those craving a little luxury in their lives. The ultra-smooth sheets use 480-thread-count, long-staple cotton to give them a super-soft feel. I also love that the fitted sheets are labeled on the “long” and “short” sides, which is a big help with bed-making.
Price: Starting at $152.15 for a full-sheet set.
Best Bamboo
Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets
The Oprah–approved bamboo sheets set from Cozy Earth are made from 100% premium viscose from bamboo. Soft, durable and not prone to wrinkling, the breathable sheets, which have an oversized fit and gentle drape, only grow softer with each wash.
Price: Starting at $251.20 for a full-sheet set.
Best Linen
Quince European Linen Sheet Set
For our newest personal sheets, I ended up going with Quince’s European linen sheet set — and I haven’t been disappointed. Ethically woven from flax, the mid-weight sheets, like most linen, have a lived-in, textured feel that gets softer over time. The breathable Quince sheets also offer a luxury feel, but with a more affordable price tag.
Price: Starting at $159.90 for a full-sheet set.
Best Sheets For Kids
Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen
Since they were toddlers, I’ve gotten sheets from Pottery Barn Kids and Pottery Barn Teen for my daughters (now ages 8 and 10), and they’ve held up beautifully. Besides the quality, one of my favorite things about these 100% organic cotton percale sheets is that they come in so many fun prints and colors. This includes seasonal designs as well as dreamy collaborations with other brands such as LoveShackFancy and Lilly Pulitzer; there’s even trademarked Harry Potter-style sheets.
Price: Starting at $79 for a twin-sheet set.
