The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival has always been my favorite outdoor event in the ’Burgh.
Hundreds of artists set up booths throughout the Cultural District and showcase their immense talent. Meandering through the endless rows of incredible paintings, jewelry, pottery and the like always makes my heart happy.

Another favorite feature is the lineup of free entertainment at the Dollar Bank Main Stage, which is being relocated to Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Stanwix Street for more access to food and drink establishments, as well as a nearby grassy area.
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, festival host, recently released this year’s lineup, along with an announcement to expand the 2023 artist market during the festival, which takes place from June 2-11 in Downtown — along both sides of Fort Duquesne Boulevard, between Sixth and Ninth streets.
Headlining this year’s festival will be KT Tunstall, known for her hits “Black Horse and the Cherry Tree” and “Suddenly I See” from her 2004 debut album “Eye to the Telescope.” Tunstall will take the stage from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on opening night, Friday, June 2.
The main lineup also features these performances, each from 7:30 to 9 p.m.:
- Saturday, June 3 — Galactic featuring Anjelika ‘Jelly’ Joseph (hip-hop, electronica, fusion and jazz)
- Sunday, June 4 — Rising Appalachia (folk)
- Monday, June 5 — The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (classical)
- Tuesday, June 6 — Lizz Wright (gospel, blues)
- Wednesday, June 7 — Red Baraat (hip-hop, jazz, punk)
- Thursday, June 8 — Corinne Bailey Rae (R&B)
- Friday, June 9 — Mo Lowda & The Humble (rock)
- Saturday, June 10 — Chali 2na & Cut Chemist (hip-hop)

“Our featured concerts run the gamut this year, representing hip hop, pop, funk, jazz classical, rock and more,” Sarah Aziz, director of festival management for the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be able to present this incredible and diverse mix of celebrated musicians in the heart of the Cultural District — free and open to everyone.”
More entertainment and details will be announced in May on the festival’s website.
