Want to Fly to Austin? Southwest Airlines Is Adding More Options
The airline is adding a daily flight out of Pittsburgh beginning Oct. 5.
Southwest Airlines announced Thursday it will add a daily flight between Pittsburgh and Austin, Texas, starting in October.
Previously, Southwest offered weekend-only service to Austin. Service started in November 2021, initially during the peak holiday travel period. The nonstop Austin flights are served alongside low-cost carrier Allegiant Air, which will resume its seasonal, twice-weekly service from PIT on May 19.
It’s the second expansion Southwest has announced recently; the airline also announced it will add a fourth daily flight to Orland this fall.
Southwest also recently announced seasonal, weekly service to Cancun resumed Saturday; flights to Myrtle Beach, S.C., will resume June 4 and increase from weekend-only to daily on July 11; Houston-Hobby service resumes April 16 and will increase to six times a week on July 11; flights to Atlanta will increase from once daily to twice daily on July 9; flights to Denver will increase from twice daily to three times daily on July 11; and flights to Phoenix will increase from weekend-only to daily Sept. 5.
After the changes take effect, Southwest will offer 29 total departures.
