Jan. 27/ The Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum at the Heinz History Center teams up with Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Pittsburgh Steelers and NFL Play 60 for its sixth annual NFL Play 60 Training Camp. Activities on all five floors of the museum will be free to kids 17 and under, who will have the chance to participate in drills, healthy cooking demos, a touchdown dance contest and other football-related fun. Jan. 21/ Shake off the post-holiday drearies with a little health and wellness. The 7th Annual Pittsburgh Yoga Expo at the Pittsburgh Opera is billed as “a day to celebrate wellness and mindfulness in Pittsburgh” and gives attendees the chance to participate in yoga workshops, watch yoga demonstrations and win special deals from local studios. A morning session, afternoon session and all-day session are available, and each participant receives three raffle tickets and a goodie bag. Jan. 5 & 26/ The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust hosts Salsa Fridays at the Cabaret at Theater Square a few Fridays of every month. Ticketholders from any Cultural District event on the same day get in free; the late-night session costs $5 otherwise.
