Most of us experience Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University of Pittsburgh campus when attending a wedding, but that really isn't long enough for a complete visit. The iconic chapel recently reopened after a five-month update to its climate-control system, which promises to take the heat off the bride, groom and their guests in the hot summer months.

To celebrate, the University of Pittsburgh produced this cool video that details the history of the chapel and gives a behind-the-scenes look at the extensive renovations.

#Fundraiser: The National Aviary wants you to spend a Night in the Tropics

If you haven’t recently swung by the National Aviary, you’re missing out.

In the past few months, it's built a new condor exhibit, bred baby penguins and brought in some tough-looking Bateleur eagles. Rest assured, Wookie, the aviary’s beloved two-toed sloth, still is doing his thing, taking naps and such.

If Wookie’s not enough to charm you into a trip to the bird haven, this weekend’s 21-and-up event probably will. On Saturday night, the aviary is hosting its biggest fundraiser of the year, Night in the Tropics.

Last year’s event was (literally) explosive, featuring fire-dancers and aerial performances. Saturday’s theme is “Feathered Fiesta,” so there will be Latin-inspired music and activities — if you’ve ever wanted to try salsa-dancing and march alongside a mariachi band.

Aside from the entertainment, the organizers are bringing in 30-some vendors, including Bethel Bakery and Church Brew Works.

Your ticket price will help out the birds, too: All proceeds go toward the aviary’s worldwide education, avian care and conservation initiatives.

If you’re lucky, you might even get to meet the event’s prestigious co-chair — Happy, the African Penguin.
