In November of 2024, Pittsburgh was named as one of the most affordable metros by Realtor.com — with $244,000 being the median listing price for a home in the area. The household income required to buy an average-priced home was $58,697, indicating more than half of the households in the Steel City could afford this price range.

But if you are looking for higher-priced, luxury homes, Pittsburgh still has plenty of options. Here’s a look at some of the region’s most expensive homes currently on the market.

341 Fairview Road, Fox Chapel

In the hills of Fox Chapel stands a European-style country estate.

Listed at $7 million, the castle-like home has numerous amenities, including two guest houses and a walnut-trimmed library.

Beyond the two-story entryway is an elevator that leads to a game room, bar, cigar room and gym, as well as a temperature-controlled wine cellar.

Located down a long-winding driveway, Gladmore Farms in Sewickley Heights will offer the right buyer privacy and splendor.

Listed at $5.9 million, the 6.7 acre property contains four bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, an open-concept kitchen and an inground pool.

Reigning over one of Squirrel Hill’s most scenic streets is a three-story Tudor-style home listed at $5.295 million.

Rosalyn Neiman, a real estate agent for Howard Hanna, has sold about 10 other homes on Woodland Road, which she says is the most expensive street in the city. Unlike other older homes she has sold, this house is move-in ready.

“Everything in there has been upgraded,” she says.

With a step inside the front door, guests are greeted by a grand foyer with high ceilings supported by white archways.

“One thing that it has to offer that everybody is looking for, and not many houses in the city have, is an open floor plan,” says Neiman.

Built in 1902, the first level of the home’s kitchen connects to the living room; there’s also a spacious dining room filled with large windows and an office that has a private balcony overlooking the garden.

At the top of the wooden staircase are five bedrooms and four full bathrooms.

Located in the lower level of the home is a recreation room, home gym and a sound-proof music room.

To finish out the long lists of amenities is a two-bedroom apartment located adjacent to the home, a heated three-car garage, an elevator and two laundry rooms.

Back in Sewickley Heights, 52 Timberhill Drive stretches across more than 10 acres.

Listed for $5.25 million, the custom-built estate was constructed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Helping to create the organic feel is a slanted, wooden roof and stonework that accents the home.

The stonework continues outdoors, surrounding the pool and hottub.

Aesthetics aside, the home hosts six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a serpentine walled patio, media room and an exercise studio.

35 Linden Place, Sewickley

Down the road from Sewickley Heights, a French Tudor-style home in the village of Sewickley combines classic allure and modern elegance.

Surrounded by black, metal gates, the fully remodeled home on a 1-acre lot is listed at $4.75 million. The home also contains a custom-designed kitchen with dark wooden accents, six bedrooms, eight bathrooms and two walk-in closets.

There’s also a detached, three-car carriage house with a studio apartment located above, as well as an in-ground pool and covered patios that are a prime place to host guests.
