ATTENTION, JAGOFFS! THE POPULAR YAJAGOFF! PODCAST IS SHIFTING ITS FORMAT TO INVADE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS WITH A HIGH-QUALITY VIDEO PRODUCTION OF THE POPULAR AUDIO PROGRAM. IT WILL AIR AT 10 EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT, STARTING OCT. 13. | LOGO SUBMITTED BY THE YAJAGOFF! PODCAST

A group of jagoffs is about to invade your social media channels and they’re giving late night hosts a run for their money.

Beloved YaJagoff! podcasters John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck are shifting the format of their popular audio show to a high-quality video production filmed in a studio, called YaJagoff! Late Night, which will air at 10 p.m. Fridays.

The Late Night program will also be used for their weekly audio podcast that will still be posted to their podcast feeds, which will be updated Saturday morning instead of Tuesday afternoon.

YaJagoff! Late Night will bring audiences a whole new view of the ’Burgh, complete with cocktails and snippet stories from across the region, delivered by the group’s reporters – Tressa Glover, Marcus Cox and Monica, from Q92.9’s Monica in the Morning show – dubbed the “Jag Braggers.”

Chamberlin says guest stars will appear on each show, and the reporters will rotate feature spots titled: “Jeet Yet?” and “Where Ya At?” that will highlight stories from across the region, such as your grandmother’s pierogi recipe and the best spots to grab pizza while in Sharpsburg.

“These micro stories will feature what we love about the area and introduce audiences to more Western Pennsylvanians,” he adds. “Someone’s nana makes a great banana bread. We know people love Lawrenceville, but what do they do between 41st and 43rd streets? We want to know these things.”

The first show will air on Friday, the 13th, with a lucky theme on this historically unlucky day. First guests include Heather Abraham and David Highfield of KDKA’s Pittsburgh Today Live, former Steeler Arthur Moats, longtime Pirates announcer Greg Brown and local musician and founder of Women Who Rock Melinda Colaizzi.

It will be broadcast via Facebook, YouTube and over the airwaves on Q92.9 FM.

“YaJagoff! Late Night will offer upbeat news and views on everything from local music, events, to the unique Pittsburgh stories and interviews with the region’s dynamos and do-gooders (with an occasional nod to the ‘jagoffs’). The jags are keeping their yinzer fingers on the pulse of Pittsburgh,” a YaJagoff! press release reads.

The group has been working closely with Q92.9 General Manager Gregg Frischling to help with the transition. Frischling said in the release he is looking forward to bringing the YaJagoff! Late Night show to fruition, adding the group brings “fun, impactful conversations to the topics they cover.”

Each hour-long show will be recorded Friday afternoon at Steel City Media’s North Hills studio and aired that night.

Both Chamberlin and Rennebeck say they will miss shooting their podcasts onsite, but are looking forward to gathering with their guests in the studio to produce a high-level video production for viewers.

“We’ve been treading unknown waters for so long and figured it out along the way. Now it’s time to do it again,” adds Rennebeck. “We wanted to create something amazing and get people together to do great things.”
