Ecolution Fashion Gala: The Time for Action is Now

Ecolution features designers and artists who create couture fashion using sustainable, recyclable and organic materials. These creative environmentally savvy costumes highlight how fashion and a circular economy impact the planet.

The event will be curated by the talented Brian David, styled by Izzazu Salon, Spa & Blowout Bar, and produced by The Green Voice Collective.

The evening will celebrate the third annual Model Citizen Award recipient Richard Parsakian, former curator of the Ecolution Fashion Gala and a true visionary in the realms of Sustainability, Arts, Music, Dance, Fashion and LGBTQ Representation in Pittsburgh’s cultural landscape.

This annual event features a runway fashion show that highlights recycled and reused materials designed exclusively for Pittsburgh Earth Day. Local designers from a wide range of backgrounds and mediums share their creations accompanied by local music performances. There will be a signature dance performance choreographed by Pearlann Porter.

If you’ve attended this gala in the past, you’re sure to see something new this year as our artists continue to challenge themselves to create truly sustainable pieces. Event curator Brian David will be designing an evening gown with recycled red velvet fabric from the Carnegie Music Hall’s auditorium seats, donated by Michael Volpatt via Carnegie Museum and Volpatt Construction.

Guests can enjoy a signature cocktail, plant-forward appetizers, the sounds of a local DJ, and a special dance performance choreographed by Pearlann Porter.
