Social Media Reacted to the 'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' Trailer With…Tears
The film isn't scheduled for release until Thanksgiving, but Pittsburgh has already shed a few tears for the Tom Hanks-led project.
Sony Pictures released the first trailer Monday morning for "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood," a film about the true story behind Fred Rogers friendship with journalist Tom Junod (portrayed by Matthew Rhys). This article, originally published in Esquire Magazine in November 1998, inspired the film written by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster and directed by Marielle Heller.
Shortly after the trailer dropped online, social media reactions began pouring in. As did the tears, apparently.
“A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” was shot in Pittsburgh and is expected in theaters nationwide on Nov. 22.

Tom Hanks in A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood trailer is simply perfect. It's going to be the most wholesome film of the year. Marielle Heller is an awesome director.
