Ring in the New Year by Making a Mess

The Carnegie Science Center New Year’s Day tradition is back for a 12th year.

Start the new year with a fun, possibly even therapeutic experience — making a huge mess and not having to clean it up. 

Carnegie Science Center’s 12th Annual MessFest, set for  10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on New Year's Day, opens all four floors of the building to slimy and gooey hands-on activities. Kids can build spaceships for “egg-stronauts” to fly on the Egg Zipline, become finger painting Picaccos or make snow using polymers, among other activities. 

Don’t forget your appetite if you want to compete in the pudding “pi” eating contest. 

Visitors of all ages are encouraged to create or destroy as much as they wish for the regular price of admission to the Science Center. Just make sure to leave your Sunday best at home, and wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy.
