‘REAL ID Day’ Coming to Penn Hills Driver License Center
PennDOT is offering service on a day the driver license center is typically closed.
As the May 7 deadline approaches for Pennsylvania residents to get a REAL ID, PennDOT is hosting a “REAL ID Day” to help residents prepare for the transition.
The Penn Hills Driver License Center is one of six locations statewide hosting the event.
The center — located in the Penn Hills shopping Center at 11620 Keleket Drive — will be open Monday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The driver license center is typically closed on Mondays.
The REAL ID will be required to board domestic flights, enter federal facilities that require ID and enter military bases.
Other federally accepted forms of ID — like a valid passport or military ID — will also be accepted to board flights or enter federal facilities for those who choose not to get the Real ID.
PennDOT offers an online quiz to help determine if the REAL ID is right for you.
