Happy birthday, Terrible Towel.

The Pittsburgh tradition was born 50 years ago when the legendary broadcaster Myron Cope asked fans to bring yellow dish towels to a divisional-round playoff game at Three Rivers Stadium. (The Steelers won.)

Fifty years later, the Terrible Towel has traveled the world — and beyond. Yes, the Terrible Towel has been to space.
