Pittsburghers Mobilize to Rescue Popular Pizza Shop

In a span of just a few days, Spak Bros. has endured a burglary, an equipment failure and a social-media hack.

Even in the best of times, the food business is challenging. For a popular Garfield pizza shop, this week has been more challenging than most.

It started with a burglary earlier this week at Spak Bros. Pizza, located at 5107 Penn Ave. That was followed by the breakdown of the shop's walk-in cooler. While trying to get the word out to customers about their temporary closing –– they have since reopened –– the owners discovered someone had created a false Twitter account that was spreading false and malicious information.

In typical Pittsburgh fashion, Spak's loyal customers are coming to the rescue with social-media posts such as these:

Like we said, typical Pittsburgh.
